A Musical Showcase
February 28, 2016
It was a great event with 20 of Nelson’s up and coming young musicians, all performing in aid of Ward Street Place renovations. The concert raised almost $600 and small apartment appliances will be installed in 4 rooms.
Thanks to the 20 performers and to the music teachers who mentor and support them.
And thank you to all the individuals who came out, donated and enjoyed an inspired and inspiring concert.

net proceeds went to support of affordable housing and Nelson CARES Room to Live campaign.
Thank you Jenny, Craig, Jessie, Kiva, Bessie and Clinton for a wondrous and inspiring evening.
On March 8, 2015 students of B.C.’s registered music teachers put on a showcase of musical talent in support of affordable housing and Nelson CARES Room to Live campaign.
The showcase raised over $5,700 and the students are directing the proceeds toward the purchase of 28 new apartment sized efficiency refrigerators. Nelson United Church contributed the use of their facilities.
Many thanks to the students and teachers who contributed rehearsal and performance time to raise this wonderfully large amount of money.

Room to Live Benefit Concert
Thanks to everyone who came to our gala campaign launch. It was a sellout and the show was fabulous.
One audience member thought it was the best ‘group hug’ the community has had this year. Another said that she was proud of how far the the community has come in the last six or seven years in acknowledging the reality of poverty and homelessness as well as the need for affordable housing right here in our beautiful part of the world.
Thanks to all the businesses and individuals who contributed items for the silent auction and to Lisa McGeady and the dedicated volunteers who put it all together. You made it happen.
A special thank you to the musicians who worked their magic on the stage and supported the six women who dazzled and moved us with their skill and passion.
